Many opportunities exist at Church of the Advent for parishioners to participate as lay volunteers our worship.  If you would like to find out more about how you can participate, contact the contact persons named below.

Acolytes and Sub-Deacons serve st the alter and assist the clergy on Sundays and various special services. Training is provided: Contact Tim Pridgen.

Altar Guild members prepare the Altar and Chancel for regular Sunday services, weddings, baptisms, funerals, or other services during the church year. Members serve in teams for one week during each month. Contact: Julie Jenkins.

Adult Choir practices every sunday at 10:00 a.m. then sing from the balcony during 10:30 worship.  12 years of age or older are welcome.  Contact: Dan Marineau.

Flower Guild Flower Guild members serve in teams to adorn the alter and narthex with arrangements and work in full force to decorate from holidays and special occasions. Contacts: Rick Crown or Flossie Dodge.

Lectors read the Old Testament and New Testament lessons for Sunday mornings and Evensong servces in a six week rotation. Guidelines for reading are provided.  Contacts: Paul Roman.

Ushers take up and present the offerings and direct communicants toward the alter during communion on Sundays and various special services. Training is provided. Contacts: Rick Crown.
