Outreach

Special Note about Outreach

Our Outreach Ministries annually receive funding from our Vestry equal to 10% of our operating budget.  We donate to several area ministries and community agencies out of those funds as directed by the Outreach Committee.  We also encourage our parishioners to volunteer throughout the community.

If you see an outreach program you'd like to find out more about or participate in, please get in touch with the contact person or check with our Church Office.

Caring Hands Ministry

Caring Hands Ministry at the Church of the Advent began in October of 2006,initially to knit shawls for the caregivers of people on our Daughters of the King prayer list. Now, women who knit, crochet and do needlework have joined the Ministry, and gather on the second and fourth Monday afternoons of each month to craft shawls, baby blankets, lap robes and socks. As they work, they pray for the recipient - prayers of patience, love, hope and healing. Each item made is then blessed before it is given, a sign that we are all wrapped in God’s love.
